Happy New Year, we hope you are as excited about the direction of hosting in 2018 as we are! With so many changes and opportunities on the horizon we thought we might get you started with a few resolutions.
- Know your numbers: Get to know your data, understand where your revenue is coming from to appreciate better the marketplace you are capturing. Good things to look for include average revenue per user (ARPU), a percentage of revenue per content management system, and churn (how many hosting customers you are losing per month).
- Know your goals: What’s been a reasonable annual revenue increase in the past. What do you want it to be in 2018? Will this be through client acquisition, corporate merger, or increased ARPU?
- Create the opportunity: Knowing your numbers and goals, how are you going to achieve them? Leverage open source communities for new technologies and opportunities. Learn about 3rd party tools that are geared to enhancing revenue.
- World Hosting Days: WHD. Global oops CloudFest: Make sure to attend! This will be one of the premier events of the year, and we at Perfect Dashboard would love to hear how you’ve been sticking to your resolutions.
At the end of the day, the resolutions you create for yourself and follow through upon should be the ones that impact revenue for 2018. In a new a challenging environment with SaaS competitors and new technologies, a focus on the top line will keep you competitive and grow not just in 2018 but for many years ahead.
